Medicomp Systems announced today that Phoenix Children’s Hospital has completed successful integration of Quippe, Medicomp’s documentation tools, with their inpatient EHR system, Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager. Phoenix Children’s made the decision to add Quippe to their existing EHR system to enable seamless integration with their outpatient environments. Another major objective was to enhance usability and documentation, which is especially important to ambulatory users where time and ease of use are critical to workflow and patient care.
According to David Higginson, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, “Our physicians come from many different areas and we are frequently acquiring practices. As a result, we have doctors who bring their experience working on a lot of different systems, with different ideas of how things should be done. What has been nice about Quippe is that it unifies them in their love of a documentation system.”
Higginson continued, “When we first saw Quippe, we saw it as a product that could not only give us very structured data — we knew it would be quick and appealing to use, too. A key advantage of our Allscripts EHR system is its open .NET framework, and since it runs with all of the Microsoft tools, Quippe was very nicely and quickly integrated.”
Medicomp Systems’ CEO David Lareau agreed that the Quippe integration into the Allscripts system was a very smooth one, thanks to Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s very capable IT department and the Allscripts open architecture platform.
