Annual Medicomp U Asia Event Empowers Southeast Asia Hospitals Through Education and Quippe Training

Optimizing education, training, and integration of innovative clinical data solutions – that was the focus of the 2025 Medicomp U Asia conference that convened April 8-10 in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting brought together clinical, functional, and technical users of Quippe, Medicomp’s intelligent clinical documentation and clinical decision support solutions. This year’s Medicomp U Asia highlighted the power of delivering diagnostically relevant and actionable information to clinicians with Quippe, regardless which EMR you use or where in the world you are.

The event was truly an international one, with presentations in both Thai and English. The conference, which was co-hosted by APUK Co., Ltd, Medicomp’s certified implementation partner based in Bangkok, drew over one hundred guests from more than 15 hospitals across Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and New Zealand. A number of representatives from hospital information system (HIS) vendors also attended to learn more about how Quippe is helping hospitals optimize their existing HIS platforms.

Two major themes emerged during the conference, both contributing to hospitals being better equipped to improve patient outcomes and achieve advanced HIMSS EMRAM and Joint Commission certifications:

Medicomp U participants received training on new Quippe features and learned implementation strategies for deploying Quippe across their hospitals. Through both formal presentations and informal networking sessions, attendees shared best practices for using Quippe to maximize the efficiencies of their current HIS platforms.

Highlighting IJN’s success

One of the event’s highlights was a presentation by Dr. Rhema Sundram of the National Heart Institute of Malaysia (Institut Jantung Negara or IJN), a premier 433-bed facility specializing in cardiology and cardiothoracic care. Widely recognized as the second-leading cardiovascular center in Asia, IJN sought to move from manual to electronic clinical documentation in order to achieve HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 certification – which is a requirement to qualify as a flagship medical tourism destination under Malaysian government requirements.

With support and guidance from APUK, 95% of IJN’s multi-specialty providers adopted Quippe’s documentation tools within 3 months. IJN became the first Malaysian hospital to achieve Stage 6 certification and is now on track to achieve Stage 7 later this year.

Demand for Quippe is growing

This year’s Medicomp U event underscored the growing demand for Quippe to help hospitals gain Joint Commission certification and demonstrate EMRAM Stage 6 and 7. Based on the feedback from participants, Medicomp U successfully delivered a wealth of essential information that will enable Southeast Asian hospitals to continue advancing their implementation goals and optimize the delivery of patient care.
