Hospital is first to deploy Quippe Basic, a streamlined version of Medicomp’s Quippe Clinical Data Engine

Washington, D.C., October 3, 2017Medicomp Systems, a provider of clinically contextual patient data solutions, announced today that Bangpakok 9 International Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand has selected Medicomp’s Quippe Basic for point of care electronic documentation. Bangpakok 9 will be the first organization to implement the Quippe Basic offering, which provides the same point of care functionality and quality clinical content as Medicomp’s standard Quippe Clinical Data Engine solution, but requires less time for implementation and includes fewer customization requirements.

Bangpakok 9 International Hospital, which is one of 7 private hospitals owned by the Bangpakok Hospital Group, will use Quippe Basic to support the implementation of standardized care processes and for the capture of actionable data to assess the quality of patient care. By leveraging the clinical support tools within Quippe Basic, doctors and nurses will have the information they need for point of care decision-making within their standard workflows.

“We are honored to partner with Bangpakok 9 as they advance their quality of care efforts and work to improve operational processes,” said David Lareau, CEO of Medicomp. “We’re excited to provide them our new Quippe Basic solution, which is ideal for organizations that want point of care electronic documentation with clinical decision support tools, but need an option that is more streamlined and less expensive than our standard Quippe offering. Because Quippe Basic includes the same high-quality content that is in the Quippe Clinical Data Engine, it is an excellent choice for organizations that have less complex requirements and need less customization.”

Medicomp introduced Quippe Basic in response to market requests for a solution that included a higher level of support and less complexity than the standard Quippe Clinical Data Engine platform. Quippe Basic is pre-packaged with multiple Medicomp-designed templates, ensuring high-quality content and significantly reduced implementation times. Quippe Basic customers who wish to create their own clinical content in the future will have the option to upgrade to Quippe Clinical Data Engine.

“We believe that our use of Quippe Basic will allow us to implement standards of care that will improve the quality of care for all patients – something that has been difficult to monitor or enforce using our current paper-based documentation,” said Phicha Chandrakamol, deputy managing director of Bangpakok Hospital Group. “Medicomp is well known in the Thailand healthcare market and we are pleased they have introduced a simplified version of the Quippe solution, which we believe is better suited to address the financial and operational requirements of hospital groups like ours.”

Bangakok 9 is scheduled to go live on phase 1 of its implementation by the end of 2017.
